Summer Reading Guide 2026: Must Read Books for Every Grade Level

Summer is the perfect time to discover a new favorite book. Whether your child loves fantasy, adventure, mystery, or realistic fiction, reading during the summer helps maintain literacy skills and encourages imagination, empathy, and creativity.


Here are some of my favorite recommendations by grade level.


Grades K–2


The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt
